Dr. A. Nugteren – abstract
Ph.D. (1991) in Indian languages and Culture, Universities of Utrecht and Leiden, is asst. professor (Phenomenology and History of Indian religions) at Tilburg University, The Netherlands.

She has published on various topics relating to traditional and contemporary aspects of Indian culture. One of her areas of interest is the connection between nature and religion, on which she published Belief, Beauty, and Bounty: Rituals around Sacred Trees in India (Brill 2005).
