Prof. Dr. Azizan Baharuddin
Received her BSc. (Hons) Biology, University of Tasmania, Australia in 1978, MSc. (University College London) and PhD in Philosophy of Science, University of Lancaster, U.K. She specializes (teaching and research) in several areas such as environmental and bioethics, science, religion and development; interfaith and intercivilisational dialogue. She has published widely in all these areas (13 books & monographs and more than 100 articles). She is also active in several NGOs that are connected with development as well as being a member of various advisory and consultative committees for ministries such as Unity & National Integration, Ministry of youth and Sports, Ministry of Women’s and Social Development. Besides annually giving papers at various conferences locally and abroad, she is also invited regularly to give inputs through the local media regarding issues that are of relevance and connected to her areas of specialization. Currently she is a professor at the Department of Science & Technology Studies as well as Director at the Centre for Civilisational Dialogue, University of Malaya.

Prof. Dr. Wil Derkse
Wil Derkse (1952) studied chemistry and philosophy at Nijmegen University. He taught chemistry at the Jeroen Bosch College in ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands side by side with his later Ph.D supervisor, the classicist Cornelis Verhoeven.  From 1987 to 2001 he headed the Radboud Foundation in Nijmegen as its scientific director. In 1993 he defended his Ph.D thesis titled On Simplicity and Elegance. An Essay in Intellectual History at the University of Amsterdam. Shortly afterwards he was appointed at the Technical University of Eindhoven as a professor in Philosophy on behalf of the Radboud Foundation. Since 2001 he holds a professorate in Science, Society and Life Philosophy at the Radboud University Nijmegen. In addition he is the Director of the Soeterbeeck Programma, an outreach programme to society on the same theme.
